along with all of the fairly inspiring anti-war activism on campus, of late, i've also been noticing a "surge" of anti-war art that some (such as the editor of ucsb's "daily nixon"...er, nexus) have dubbed "vandalism."
*gasp*!
the borg hasn't entirely seized all of our minds entirely, yet!

Oh, wait. I can't say that. I'm a good little housewife living in Davis County, Utah. (shhh...Don't tell on me!) ;-)
Love the art!
dear nexus, silence = consent
Hi ted! This is awesome. In the waiting room at the Dr. today I was discouraged, because this old biddy kept flapping about how terrible Rosie O'donnell is and how wrong about everything political everyone is and how her son is 20 and in Iraq and why can't people support him? I wanted to turn to her and said "I support him by wanting him to come home alive. I hope he doesn't die in this crappy political mess."
This was right after she and another girl made the receptionist change the channel because Tyra was interviewing and adult movie star. OMG PORN!!! There weren't even any children in the room. And I kept thinking that it was soooooo mild. And I was bummed because they changed it before they got to the set of the movie.
thanks for the comments so far. hey megawitcha, nouks, cagey! i thought that peeps might appreciate this one!
& timmay -- i wish the nixites had more contact with their alumni. oh, wait... did you work there? or no? you're just a professional journalist. what do you have to teach them?!
if only they knew how many ucsb, even nexus, alumni are embarassed with the decline of the newspaper! i've heard it more than once!
maybe the jerry roberts era will be as fruitful as this image. one can only hope!
i then moved on to c-span, the santa barbara independent (with the legendary nick welsh!), mother jones, sf weekly and my current (very unprofessional) gig at the chronicle ....
what is jerry roberts doing right now? is he a mentor? a volunteer?
what's his official title, etc. etc.?
is there any truth to the rumors i've been hearing that the sb news-mess has been sued so that wrongly dismissed editors and reporters could get their jobs back (with back pay)?
do tell.
